Mobility is the ability of a person to move freely and safely from one place to another and to perform daily activities independently. It includes walking, standing, sitting, changing positions, moving indoors and outdoors, and using transportation.
Mobility is not only about physical movement—it also relates to a person’s independence, confidence, participation in society, and quality of life.
Mobility Support at Santhivardhana
Santhivardhana is committed to ensuring that no person with disability is left behind due to lack of assistive devices. Recognizing that most families we serve cannot afford mobility aids, the organization actively facilitates assessment, procurement, and distribution of mobility and assistive devices to the most needy.
With support from donors, NGOs, and government schemes, Santhivardhana provides:
Hearing aids for children and adults with hearing impairment
Artificial limbs (artificial legs) for amputees
Braces and calipers for children with orthopedic conditions and cerebral palsy
Crutches and walking aids for mobility support
Wheelchairs for children and adults with severe mobility challenges
Tricycles to enable independent movement for children and adults
Each device is provided based on professional assessment to ensure proper fit, safety, and maximum benefit.
How Santhivardhana Implements Mobility Support
Identification of beneficiaries through community outreach and assessments
Coordination with hospitals, NGOs, and government departments
Mobilization of donor and CSR support
Distribution of devices with proper guidance and training
Follow-up to ensure effective usage and maintenance
Our Commitment
Santhivardhana believes that mobility is a basic right, not a privilege. Through sustained partnerships with donors, NGOs, and government agencies, we continue to restore movement, independence, and hope to persons with disabilities.
When mobility is restored, lives are transformed.
When dignity is upheld, inclusion becomes possible.
