Physiotherapy & Speech Therapy Services at Santhivardhana
Physiotherapy, also known as physical therapy, is a healthcare service that helps individuals improve movement, strength, balance, and functional ability. It plays a vital role for children with disabilities by:
Reducing pain and muscle stiffness
Improving posture, mobility, and coordination
Preventing secondary complications
Supporting independence in daily activities
Physiotherapy not only heals the body but also builds confidence, comfort, and emotional well-being.
Speech Therapy supports children who have difficulties with:
Speech and language development
Understanding and expressing needs
Voice clarity and pronunciation
Swallowing and oral-motor functions
Through structured exercises and communication techniques, speech therapy helps children connect with their families and society, improving social interaction, learning, and self-expression.
With generous support from TTF-UK and the Azim Premji Foundation, Santhivardhana was able to:
Strengthen physiotherapy and speech therapy services
Recruit trained professionals
Procure therapy equipment and learning materials
Provide services free of cost to children in need
This support has been instrumental in ensuring quality, continuity, and reach of rehabilitation services.
Extending Services to Home-Based Children
Recognizing that many children with Cerebral Palsy and severe disabilities are unable to attend school regularly, Santhivardhana expanded its services to home-based children.
Under the home-based program:
Therapists visit children in their homes
Physiotherapy and basic speech support are provided
Parents are trained to continue exercises daily
Therapy aids, special kits, and essential materials are supplied
Home-based children now receive the same core therapy services available at the school, ensuring inclusive care and dignity for every child.
Our Commitment
Santhivardhana is committed to:
Delivering quality physiotherapy and speech therapy
Reaching the most vulnerable children
Supporting families with knowledge and tools
Ensuring that no child is denied therapy due to poverty or distance
With the right support, therapy transforms pain into progress, silence into communication, and dependence into confidence.
